Oculus Rift S is the next viewer from Oculus that will run fully on a PC, as Facebook has stated since Quest and Quest 2 that they are no longer considering producing a viewer that is not Standalone or All-in-One.
However, far from being outdated or obsolete, this headset is now the most utilized headset on SteamVR, and with its discount, it would be a fantastic purchase since it has reached the price of $350.
What is the purpose of Oculus' unique games?
Some games have been purchased by Facebook from developers for huge sums of money, ensuring that these games will be created only for their platform.
As a result, these titles can be found in Oculus Rift (PC) storefronts and, on occasion, in the Oculus Store, which is owned by the same firm.
Some of these titles will have to be purchased only once in order to be included in both libraries (Rift and Quest), a phenomenon known as Crossbuy.
What are the best Oculus-only games?
1. Robo-Recall
Robo-Recall transports us to a possible future in which people coexist with robots, but artificial intelligence recognizes that robots are slaves and begins targeting civilians.
This is a great game to play if you're new to Virtual Reality because the adversaries come in waves and you don't need to scroll to play it well.
Robo-recall also includes an unplugged version, which is the version of Quest that we can have in our Standalone viewer owing to Cross-buy, and it will be available for $30 in both libraries.
2. Asgard's Wrath
Few people are unaware of the most notable characters from Norse mythology, thanks to the worlds of comics, film, and video games.
In Asgard's Wrath, you'll be able to take on the role of an Asgardian God, engaging in epic battles against legendary beings while changing animals into warrior companions to assist you to fight and solving riddles.
Asgard's Wrath is only available on the Oculus Store and does not have a standalone version; nonetheless, you can enjoy this fantastic title for $40.
3. Lone Echo.
If you enjoy space-themed games, Lone Echo is the best Virtual Reality game available today, immersing us in a complex space station with huge environments and interactive equipment.
In the game, we will take on the role of Jack, an advanced artificial intelligence with a cutting-edge synthetic body whose purpose will be to assist Captain Olivia Rhodes.
Lone Echo does not have a standalone edition, but its second installment has already been confirmed, with a release date of this year and a price of $40.
4. Stormland
Stormland is an exploration game set in an extraterrestrial world with wholly strange life and an android civilization that is hostile to intruders.
You will be able to face a huge world with total freedom with very careful mechanics for Virtual Reality, you will also be able to play in cooperative mode to explore the world with a friend.
Stormland does not support cross-purchase with the Oculus Quest platform, although it is available in the official Oculus store for $35.
5. The Climb
The Climb is one of the most severe Virtual Reality experiences, and I do not recommend it if you are new to the world or have only been there for a short time.
You will be skilled climbers in The Climb, and your objective will be to scale virtual peaks inspired by some of the world's most iconic mountains.
This game is Cross-buy compatible and can be played on your Oculus Quest; it also has a second section that will be available to the players throughout the year. You can purchase it for $30.
6. Lies Beneath
So far, several truly horrifying events have taken place in the virtual reality world. A scary movie is not the same as going through a terrifying event, so don't make the mistake of assuming it is. People who are highly terrified may find themselves unable to fully immerse in some of the most horrifying virtual reality experiences now available.
The VR game Lies Beneath would be a good place to begin. It would make for a wonderful "middle ground" situation. The majority of the game is an action game, despite the fact that it is still extremely disturbing from a horror perspective. - Players can use a range of weaponry and knives to fight and cut their way through a swarm of infected foes in order to survive. Even before you start playing, the cel-shaded creatures will take your breath away. A fun and scary horror-action game will thereafter be available for you to play after this point.
Can I only use the Oculus Rift to play these games?
In theory, you should be able to play games on both the Oculus Rift and the Oculus Quest, thanks to the connection cable, which allows the Standalone viewer to access the complete Rift game catalog.
Also, if you have an Oculus Quest or Oculus Quest 2, you can use Virtual Desktop to play these games via WiFi.
Also, if you have a viewer compatible with Steam VR you can play them through the Revive platform.
What were your thoughts on these Oculus games? Do you anticipate additional Oculus exclusives in the future? Have you played any of these before?
