Indeed, this event has left many people with their mouths open, since we can anticipate seeing more than 20 titles in Virtual Reality for all platforms at the event.
For the purposes of this roundup, we will discuss the best games that have been disclosed thus far, without regard to platform or release date.
1. Cities VR
Cities VR is a building simulation game based on the famous Cities Skylines video game series that was built by the same team that created Wraith: The Oblivion Afterlife.
You may create your own city, complete with houses, schools, and hospitals, from the ground up. The purpose of the game is to make it as pleasant as possible in order to attract more residents and convert it into a megapolis.
Cities VR will be available for the Meta Quest 2 platform in the first quarter of this year.
2. Ruin Magus
Ruin Magus is the RPG game that many of us have been waiting for: a Japanese-themed RPG that will take us on an epic fantasy adventure comparable to Sword Art Online and other similar games.
It's a game in which we can go through a number of different adventures centered on the ruins of Grand Amnis. To move forward, we must unravel the riddles and enigmas that surround the ruins.
It is presently available on Kickstarter, but it will be released for the Meta Quest platform and PC virtual reality this winter.
3. Smash Drums
This is an absolutely must-play game that has been available since December 2nd. Smash Drums is the name of the game. The move from the App Lab to the official Meta Quest 2 platform is now complete.
Feel like a drummer with this rhythmic game that, in my perspective, gives a huge amount of challenge that many games of this type miss.
This means that in order to be successful in Smash Drums, you must beat the drums numerous times with varying degrees of force.
4. Cosmic Adventures of Ziggy (PC VR, Quest 2)
Space games are a gaming genre that lends itself particularly well to Virtual Reality. As part of the Upload VR Showcase, the first trailer for Ziggy's Cosmic Adventures has been released.
We will be driving a fully operational ship on a planetary exploration expedition in Ziggy's, which we will have to repair and even replace the energy modules manually.
Despite the knowledge that it will be available on the Meta Quest and PC VR platforms, no precise release date for this game has been disclosed. The game is being created by Stardust Collective.
5. Vertigo 2 (PC VR)
The much-anticipated sequel to the acclaimed Virtual Reality game Vertigo, a story shooter with a futuristic premise that will take your breath away.
They show us some of the campaign's settings in the trailer, including Autonica City, where we will fight for our life by choosing between the "Revolution" and the "Tradition."
Vertigo 2 is scheduled for release on PC Virtual Reality platforms in 2022, and we will keep an eye out for more details on this intriguing project.
6. Paranormal Hunter
The same team that created Shenmue and Shin Megami Tensei also made Paranormal Hunter. They are planning to release a cooperative horror game for PC VR gamers in the second quarter of 2022.
We could call Paranormal Hunter a graphically vitaminized version of Phasmophobia, but with a few opulent extras.
What is clear is that this is a game that you will enjoy much more when played with others, as playing it alone is highly likely to result in a heart attack.
7. Propagation: Paradise Hotel
One of the games exhibited in this Showcase that I was especially thrilled to see was Propagation VR: Paradise Hotel. A game has finally seen the light of day because of the community's support for the free virtual reality experience given by Propagation VR!
With over 350,000 downloads and overwhelmingly positive feedback, Wanadev Studio has decided to develop a full game that will be released in late 2022 for all platforms.
If the game is half as terrifying as the free demo, we will have one of the best games of its kind on our hands.
8. Moss: Book 2
The most recent Upload VR Winter Showcase release was a trailer for Quill's next adventure in Moss: Book II, which will be released on PlayStation VR in spring 2022.
The preview shows that Quill will face a strong foe once more, this time in the guise of what appears to be a dark raven.
Moss is one of the most highly rated video games across all Virtual Reality platforms, and I personally hope that the PC VR and Meta Quest versions of this game will be published in the soon future.
Please tell me what you thought of this article. Were there any games unveiled at the Showcase that you were looking forward to? Please leave a comment if you have one.
