As one of the important ingredients for caring for plants, fertilizer needs to be given regularly. The safest fertilizer to use for the long term and in the household is organic fertilizer. There are two types of organic fertilizer forms can be in the form of liquid and solid. Both can also be made yourself with natural ingredients that you have at home.

Most of the compost that comes from kitchen waste is organic waste consisting of vegetable and fruit waste. Organic waste is waste that can be decomposed. With proper processing, this waste can be a useful fertilizer for your plants. how to make organic fertilizer from kitchen waste : 

1. Collect your household waste. Make sure the waste has been separated between organic and non-organic. The waste that will be used to make fertilizer is organic waste. For vegetable waste, use vegetables that have not gone through the cooking process.
2. Chop organic waste into 1-2cm size. then put it in a big bucket.
3. Leave the trash to rot. For the decomposition process, you can let the garbage decompose by itself or speed up the process by using an EM4 solution. This solution can be obtained at various stores that sell farming needs.
4. Close the bucket that contains the organic waste earlier. Add the putrefaction solution each time you put new trash in the bucket. Place it in a shady place.
5. Stir the bucket regularly every 3 days so that the mixture is evenly distributed.
6. Leave the bucket of organic waste for about 2 weeks, until the composting process occurs. In the end, there will be two types of fertilizers, liquid fertilizers, and solid fertilizers.
7. Before being used as a fertilizer or planting medium, solid compost must first be dried by aerating. Meanwhile, the liquid can be used directly on plants.
8. Compost liquid is mixed with water in a ratio of 1:5. If the compost liquid emits an unpleasant odor, it can be mixed with whiting which has been dissolved in water.
